Pet Identification

macawBecause your pet is such an important member of your family, we offer  microchipping and tattooing as permanent forms of identifying your pet.  Microchipping can be done at anytime; it involves implanting an AKC international microchip small enough to go through a hypodermic needle.  It is implanted under the skin, usually in the scruff area, and is read by a scanner.  The number on the chip is unique to your pet and is included on an international register.  A toll free number is called and the owner information you provided is given to the person or facility that has your pet so you can be reunited whether in this country or traveling abroad.

Tattooing is done under anesthesia and is a way of marking your pet with a name or number for identification.

We also offer pet ID cards. They are sized to fit in your pocket or wallet. It contains a photo of your pet as well as vaccine, health, pet and owner information. This pet ID card is a valid vaccine certificate, so they are perfect for the pet that travels.
