Mascot: Abby
Abby was brought to our clinic in 1995 with a badly fractured leg. We were quickly won over by her sweet face and demanding attitude. At that point in time, we didn’t have a clinic cat so she was the obvious choice for the job. Once her leg was repaired and she was able to get around, she decided the reception counter was her special place. For years, she greeted clients and their pets. She was also frequently called on to be our demo-cat. She helped us educate clients on how to give medications, clean ears, do trim nails and many other things. This was her least favorite job, but she never refused to help out. When we moved into our current building, she decided she like hanging out upstairs where she could watch over everything. Now that Abby is 17 years old, she has retired from all of her previous duties. She spends her days sleeping in a comfortable bed under a desk upstairs. After all of her years of service, we let Abby fill her days doing whatever she wants.
Abby finally gave up the fight of renal disease, thyroid disease, heart disease and blindness on 4/18/2013. She will be missed at the Hospital.
